Kingswood Park
Our popular annual event runs from 10.30am to 4pm at Kingswood Park, High Street, Kingswood and provides a variety of entertainment for families, with a selection of live music acts, face painting, street art displays and food stalls to enjoy.
There will also be a variety of stalls with information about what services the council and its partner organisations such as the NHS provide to families in South Gloucestershire and where to go to receive further advice and support.
Tying in with National Family Week which runs from 27 May to 2 June, the event is aimed at the whole family, and helps build stronger communities by bringing people together to have fun and enjoy everything their local area has to offer.
Family Fun Day event organiser George Kousouros said: “Come along to our fun day in Kingswood Park and enjoy a great day out for the whole family. There are lots of great activities planned throughout the day with live music from some talented musicians as well as entertainers,... Read more >>

The 'scratch orchestra' day is an opportunity for players of orchestral instruments to come together and rehearse music in a single day for a concert that evening. The theme of the day is 'hits from the movies' so there will be lots of recognisable and fun pieces.
Rehearsals will be from 1-6:30pm (with regular breaks), and we will be performing at 7:30pm at Castle School.
There will be a number of pieces to learn and play, including Pirates of the Caribbean and lots of others you'll know and recognise.
We would like to get as many people performing with us as possible that day so if you've got some friends who play an orchestral instrument (strings, brass, wind or percussion) who can play to a standard approaching grade 5, make sure you let them know about it.
The day is open to musicians across Gloucestershire and Bristol.
The cost of the day will be £15 and enrolment forms are available - e mail below. We would be grateful if these could be returned by Sunday June 9th so... Read more >>

GS is a group attached to St Mary's and St Paul's Churches. It is aimed at those in secondary school and provides fellowship, fun, food and games in a safe and relaxed atmosphere.
The meetings are usually on the third Sunday of the month at St Mary's Church room. Contact Tom Usherwood (01454 412238) for details.
This group started two years ago and is aimed at the older end of GS, years 11+ (ages 15+). It is intended to supplement, not replace GS, and guests are always welcome. It is planned to run on the first Sunday of each month. The Youth Emmaus course has inspired several sessions this year. A slightly quieter meeting with more emphasis on fellowship and discussion – although we still appear to find plenty of time for playing games, and people are welcome to attend either or both as they choose.
