• 2012 “Stars Of The Future” Junior Badminton Academy
1-3pm and 3-5pm, Thornbury Leisure Centre, Alveston Hill, Thornbury Road, Thornbury BS35 3JB

1-3pm age groups 7 to 13
3-5pm age groups 14 to 18

Trials are open to boys and girls of every standard of play,
and this includes complete beginners.

Trial fees are £5 per participant. To book a place on any of the dates and times, or for more details, then please contact 07807 227951 via text or phone or email below.

If you are unable to attend on the day of the trials, but are still interested in Badminton Coaching, then you are welcome to still contact us, and leave any contact details with us, and other times and venues can be arranged.

Area 35 (formerly Thornbury Youth Centre) is situated within Turnberrie's Community Centre and has its own entrance. It is open for all young people between 11 and 25 with different nights for different ages.
Our facilities include, Sports hall, Coffee bar with Pool table, Table tennis table, Big Screen projector TV, DJ equipment and computers.
We run a full programme of activities including cooking, arts and crafts, photography, music, dance, sport etc.

Bristol Phoenix Cricket Club

Bristol Phoenix is a club which is open to all women and girls. Formed in September 2008 from the female sections of Chipping Sodbury CC, Shirehampton CC and Thornbury CC, its aim is to provide opportunities for women and girls who live in the North Bristol and South Gloucestershire areas to join a club dedicated to the development of women's and girls' cricket.

Frontline Martial Arts

We offer high quality, low cost martial arts training, predominantly based on WTF style Taekwondo. However, we appreciate that there is no perfect art, so we do not limit our training to this style.
We train in Alveston Youth Centre on Monday evenings (all ages) and the Jubilee Hall (under 10s) on Friday afternoons.

Old Down Cricket Club

Old Down Cricket Club is one of the oldest in the area, and our club facilities on the Alveston Road at Old Down are highly regarded within the Bristol and District League.
We run two Saturday teams which play in the Bristol & District Cricket Association as well running a Sunday X1 which plays friendly cricket. We also have a thriving Colts section with an Under 11’s team as well as U9, U15 and U17 teams.

Old Down Cricket Club - Colts

We have a thriving Colts section which this year will include a team at Under 17 level, two teams at Under 15 plus a newly formed team at Under 11 level. These teams will play competitive cricket in the Bristol & District Youth League. In addition we run Under 9’s coaching designed to introduce boys and girls to the game of cricket.

Thornbury Big Cats

Thornbury Big Cats is the junior section of Thornbury Squash Club, based at Thornbury Leisure Centre. We offer hour long coaching sessions during school term times, on Fridays at 5pm. The sessions are open to children from the age of 7 and for beginners to more experienced players. Children are coached in ability groups. Our coaches are fully qualified and CRB checked and give their time voluntarily to the club. The cost is £3.70 per week paid termly. Thornbury St John Ambulance

Our volunteers are well known for the hours they spend ensuring public events are safe. We're also the leading first aid training provider in the UK and the third largest youth organisation.
The groups meet every Tuesday of the South Glos school terms in The Buckingham Room at The Chantry, and new members are always very welcome.
Badgers (5-10 years) meet 6.15-7.15pm
Cadets (10-18 years) meet 7.15-8.45pm

Thornbury Town FC

The club runs two adult teams and a youth section running from U6 to U18 and caters for both male and female teams. The exact date of the formation of a football club in Thornbury is uncertain, but it is known that football was being played in the town in 1896 and that there was a Thornbury Town Club in 1898. The youth section was originally formed in 1990 as a separate club (Thornbury Falcons) and ran in this capacity for many successful years covering teams for boys and girls up to U16. In 2010 the two clubs merged to form a new Thornbury Town FC while retaining adult and junior sections (up to U18).
