I have been running French and German classes for adults for many years; some students have been coming for over ten years! The classes are small, informal and lots of fun. We break in the middle for tea or coffee and enjoy occasional wine or cheese tasting, cakes, meals and a big July 14th celebration. I currently run classes as follows:

French
Beginners: Weds 1.45-3.45pm (began 31st Oct)
Year 2: Thurs 9.45-11.45am and 7-9pm
Year 3: Mon 7-9pm
Year 4: Weds 7-9pm
Advanced: Weds 10am-12noon

German
Beginners: Thurs 2-4pm (began September)
Advanced: Fri 9.30-11.30am

The strength, and the ‘difference’, of the WEA is that it is a voluntary organisation which relies on its members (current and former students) to help organise and support learning in their local communities - in village halls, community centres, schools and in some cases pubs!

All WEA courses are open to all adults. You need no qualifications to join a course. Whatever your past educational and life experience the WEA has something to offer. We can help you develop new skills, extend your learning or just encourage you to enjoy a new interest. Most of our courses can form an excellent basis for adults to get back to learning and training.
