Bristol Phoenix is a club which is open to all women and girls. Formed in September 2008 from the female sections of Chipping Sodbury CC, Shirehampton CC and Thornbury CC, its aim is to provide opportunities for women and girls who live in the North Bristol and South Gloucestershire areas to join a club dedicated to the development of women's and girls' cricket.

Old Down Cricket Club is one of the oldest in the area, and our club facilities on the Alveston Road at Old Down are highly regarded within the Bristol and District League.
We run two Saturday teams which play in the Bristol & District Cricket Association as well running a Sunday X1 which plays friendly cricket. We also have a thriving Colts section with an Under 11’s team as well as U9, U15 and U17 teams.

Thornbury Big Cats is the junior section of Thornbury Squash Club, based at Thornbury Leisure Centre. We offer hour long coaching sessions during school term times, on Fridays at 5pm. The sessions are open to children from the age of 7 and for beginners to more experienced players. Children are coached in ability groups. Our coaches are fully qualified and CRB checked and give their time voluntarily to the club. The cost is £3.70 per week paid termly. Thornbury Hockey Club is a friendly and sociable club with members of all ages and standards. The club has three teams in leagues that play on Saturdays throughout the winter season from September to April. Training is held regularly on a Wednesday evening at The Castle School, Thornbury from 7-8.30pm. The first half an hour focuses on 'light' fitness and the second hour on skills training. We always welcome new members.

The club is set in an attractive, rural spot at the far end of the Mundy Playing Fields. The grounds are spacious, with a clubhouse, and 4 all-weather courts, all of which are floodlit and newly repainted. We also have regular use of 4 public courts which are adjacent to our club.
Parking is available close by in the general Mundy Playing Fields car park. Access to this car park is via Kington Lane, off Castle Street.

Thornbury Sailing Club is at Oldbury-On-Severn, on the east bank of the Severn estuary. It offers dinghy, windsurfing and cruiser sailing as well as sail training and social activities.

Thornbury Sea Cadets offer a range of training and experience based on the traditions of the Royal Navy and waterborne activities. Senior cadets (12-18) meet on Monday and Thursday evening whilst Junior Cadets (10-12) meet on Thursdays only. We are a small, friendly group of adult skaters that meet every Tuesday at 7pm for an hour of skating indoors at Thornbury Leisure Centre. Thornbury Skate is not run for profit - each skater pays £2/3 to cover the cost of hiring the hall. We are not skate instructors but have a range of abilities and ages and can offer advice to get you going. If you just want to skate then great! - that's what we do too!

The club runs two adult teams and a youth section running from U6 to U18 and caters for both male and female teams. The exact date of the formation of a football club in Thornbury is uncertain, but it is known that football was being played in the town in 1896 and that there was a Thornbury Town Club in 1898. The youth section was originally formed in 1990 as a separate club (Thornbury Falcons) and ran in this capacity for many successful years covering teams for boys and girls up to U16. In 2010 the two clubs merged to form a new Thornbury Town FC while retaining adult and junior sections (up to U18).
