2009 marks the 60th anniversary of the closure of the pit at Frog Lane, and the South Gloucestershire Mines Research Group, Yate & District Heritage Centre and local community and heritage groups are joining forces for "Frog Lane 1949-2009" to mark the closure of Frog Lane Colliery, the last major coal mining concern in the Yate/Coalpit Heath area.
Frog Lane 1949-2009 will be a major event in 2009 consisting of a book, key exhibition, CD and numerous mining events and activities.
The exhibition is free to the public.

The site will be open for artists of all abilities to come and paint at Acton Court. Resident artist, Lisa Kopper, will be available to give assistance if required.

Do you have, or could you take, a digital photo of wildlife, creation or nature? We would like to celebrate local creativity by putting your photos together into a short audio-visual sequence to be shown at 4all.
Photos will be grouped into the following categories: The Void; The Sky; Plants of Every Kind; Day and Night; Feathers and Fins; Animals and Humanity; Sabbath Rest. You can submit up to seven photographs (one from each category) or just your favourite shot.
The finished audio-visual sequence will be shown at 4all, an informal service of Christian worship, suitable for all ages.

Our Club Nights, normally first Wednesday of the month, are open to visitors for a charge of £2 (free refreshments!) - other events require membership.
Membership includes social functions and a summer programme of outdoor painting sessions. Studio painting sessions are held three times a week.
