Volunteer Centre Thornbury

We have lots of opportunities in the local area from visiting elderly people to helping organise exhibitions, from driving to gardening and from offering advice to working with children.
Volunteering is the ideal way to gain work experience and make new friends. It allows you to try different things and improves self-confidence. In some cases it can lead to paid employment. Mostly though, it should be enjoyable and enriching, helping you to feel worthwhile whilst helping others lead a better quality of life.

7pm: Fibromyalgia Syndrome Support Group
Alveston Methodist Church

7-9pm, Alveston Methodist Church Hall

Whenever possible we like to include open forums at some of our meetings throughout the year.

This gives us a great opportunity to discuss any issues relating to our fibro at a more leisurely pace, rather than the hurried pre-coffee time.

So if you have any information or questions you would like to share, this is the forum for you.

To follow this we will spend a short relaxation session learning how to relax and go home ready for a wonderful night’s sleep, just what the doctor ordered.

The group provides help and support to sufferers of Fibromyalgia and their families in South Gloucestershire. Group meetings are on the fourth Tuesday of every month. For more details, contact Elaine on 01454 415374.
