The website below is run by residents who are concerned with the impact that the proposed redevelopment will have on Oldbury and the Severn Vale.
They have variety of personal views, but share one main concern: that the redevelopment will go ahead without people really understanding what is at stake until it is too late.
Oldbury's primary objective is to generate and sell electricity, while maintaining a safe and secure working environment. Work is also underway to ensure a seamless transition to the defuelling phase and the start of decommissioning.
We have regular social events such as skittles evenings, quiz nights, barbecues and the like, and there is always a Christmas dinner.
However, we are more than just a walking club. The Ramblers is a registered charity and one of its aims is to campaign to keep the footpath network open.
Please visit our website below for details of our walks.
SG Futurenergy’s helpline is manned by expert advisors that give free, impartial advice and help identifying the most suitable renewable technology for your home. They will also provide a list of reliable local installers.

What will farming be like in the future when energy prices are high and climate change pressures mean that farmers will have to reduce their farm’s carbon footprint as well as farm sustainably?
The way that we, as consumers, support farmers in making the changes needed will be crucial. Find out more about how we can improve our food security and help our local food growers to meet the challenges ahead.
Admission Free. After the film there will be a chance to discuss the issues with former organic farmer and current Soil Association Inspector, Jerry Harding. This is the last in the monthly series of talks and films looking at our future prospects in a changing world.

Monday April 20 - Sunday May 3, Wyevale Garden Centre, Milbury Heath, Wotton-under-Edge GL12 8QH
Staff at Wyevale Thornbury Garden Centre are challenging children to create weird and wonderful creatures and people from potatoes.
Paul Hodges, Manager of the garden centre, explained: “The competition is part of our Grow Your Own Potatoes Event, which runs from Saturday, March 20 until Sunday, March 28.
“It is a fun idea and we hope as many youngsters as possible enter. We will have the models on display in the garden centre and will ask customers to vote for their favourites via a ballot box.
“Although we don’t have any hard and fast rules we are looking for models of famous people such as politicians and pop stars.”
To help inspire youngsters to enter the competition, Wyevale Thornbury Garden Centre will be running free potato modelling workshops on Friday, March 19 from 9am until 12noon. Children can drop in at any time and must be accompanied by an adult.
Children aged from four to 11 can enter the competition and entry forms are available from Wyevale Thornbury Garden Centre. Forms can also be completed in-store when models are handed in to be displayed or during the workshop.
Paul added: “The rules are very simple. There are two age categories: four to seven-years-old and eight to 11-years-old. Any shape/size potato can be entered and any other products can be used to enhance the appearance of the potato.”
The first prize-winners in each age category will receive a certificate and a £5 gift voucher to spend at the garden centre. Each winner’s school will receive a WCF Phoenix bag of seed potatoes, a Burgon & Ball triple pack round potato planter and a Miracle-Gro Organic Choice potato and vegetable gro-sac to fill the potato planters.
For further details, please call the garden centre, which is located in Milbury Heath, on 01454 412247 or click below.

Some members of Sustainable Thornbury have been working with others for some time towards setting up a local food scheme in Thornbury. It will start off as a vegetable box scheme, and may grow into whatever the members want. For the moment the scheme will be called Thornbury CSA. It is expecting to start producing boxes this summer, 2010.
The idea is called Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). The farmers and consumers work closely together; the farmer gets a guaranteed market for the crop while the consumers know how the food was grown and pay a modest price for local food.
