Welcome to our arts and entertainment section, where you'll find everything you need to know about Thornbury's thriving arts scene.
Details of forthcoming events are in the calendar on the right, and on the pages in this section you'll find information on local arts and performance organisations, as well as places to visit and days to enjoy.
ACT is a project to build a new performance and arts venue in Thornbury.
It has been set up as an independent (not for profit) organisation solely with the purpose of developing and building a new 'state of the art' performance venue in Thornbury.
It will serve the town and local area, bridging the arts facilities vacuum between Bristol, Cheltenham and Bath.
The Octagon Visual Arts Centre is based in the Castle School, Thornbury. It consists of a teaching space and a gallery that is for school and community use.
Our aim is to bring to Thornbury a selection of exhibitions, which will both reflect and enlighten the wider community. For more information, please contact Andrea Hazlehurst, Community Art Teacher on 01454 862113 or by email.
Razzle is the Rural & Community Arts Touring Scheme for South Gloucestershire. It aims to provide a choice of high quality arts events for people in communities within South Gloucestershire. These include performances by professional companies, workshops and films, usually held in village halls, schools, community centres and even cricket pavilions.
If you would like to know more about the work we do or are interested in putting on shows in your local community, please ring Janine McCretton on 0117 944 5207 or email below.
Tickets are sold locally for each event by the village or community promoter. Tickets can also be reserved by emailing name of show, venue and date to the address below, along with your name, contact details and number of tickets required. They will be available for payment and collection before the show at the venue.
