• Here we are at the start of a new year. Many thanks to our out-going Chairman Robert Gorham who has done an excellent job over the last 12 months. Robert needs a little more time to supervise a project underway at home but he is remaining, as Vice Chairman so will still be fully involved in this coming year's campaign. The author of this news Sue Aitken will take over the role as Chairman!
• Huge thanks are due to Judith Payne who has resigned from the Committee after many years very hard work- I am sure she will enjoy a well-deserved break!
• Thanks too to Val Gregory who has stepped down as Vice Chairman but remains firmly on the committee as Minutes Secretary and continues her award winning work with the Wild Flower Meadow.
• Welcome to new members Rose Lock, Sue Trowell and Julia Brimacombe. Its good to have some new blood and fresh ideas on the committee.
Plans for planting for SPRING are now under way but we now need HELP!
We have 15 sacks of daffodil bulbs for planting in Grovesend Road, Thornbury Hill and Streamleaze areas. We are due to have a meeting with South Glos to confirm exact locations and then we need volunteers!
We need groups to take a sack and a plan of where they are to go and to undertake to get them planted in November. We would love groups of young people to be involved, so if you have contact with Schools, Scouts, Guides, etc and could take on this as a project it would be good for all. If you are not in the "Youth Category" please still get in touch either you can take on a bag yourselves or help some younger members of the community.
PLEASE HELP MAKE THORNBURY BLOOM THIS SPRING!
