Thornbury Fire Station
Come along and find out more about Thornbury Fire Station.
That’s the message from firefighters as they hold a station open day.
Members of the public will be able to see some of the vehicles and equipment firefighters use, as well as demonstrations involving breathing apparatus and hydraulic cutting equipment. They will also be able to find out how to join as a part-time firefighter.
The event takes place from 11am until 4pm at the fire station in Gloucester Road, Thornbury.

Thornbury is lucky enough to have its own Fire Station with two engines and twenty retained firefighters.
They provide cover for the town and surrounding villages 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as part of Avon Fire and Rescue Service.
As well as fighting fires and responding to other emergencies, the team play a key role in promoting community safety, visiting homes, schools and community groups to offer free safety advice.

Thornbury Fire Station is available for events or station visits. Visitors can call in during weekly training on Mondays 6.30pm-9pm, or group visits (max. 20 people) can be arranged by clicking here.
