Thornbury St John Ambulance Cadets Presentation Evening
As well as learning more about First Aid, Cadets can choose from a range of subjects.
Our Cadets in Thornbury have learnt about cookery, nutrition and made lots of different foods; we have learnt about other countries in the world where there are St John Ambulance groups.
We have also learnt about radio communications and how to do someone’s make-up so they look injured! We get to go on first aid duty at local events, school fetes, carnivals, and lots more.
We also do sandcastle building and kite flying competitions, 10 pin bowling, take part in quizzes and competitions and even do laser tag and caving if the Cadets would like to!
We meet every Tuesday during school term times, in The Buckingham Room at The Chantry, Castle Street, Thornbury. Badgers meet from 6.15pm to 7.15pm and Cadets meet from 7.15pm to 8.45pm.
Badgers and Cadets have the opportunity to take part in events with other Badgers and Cadets from around the county; these include summer camps; days out to theme parks; sandcastle competitions and teddy bears picnics.
St John also have adult members and youth workers in Badger Setts and Cadet Units. Why not see what you can do?
