Dear All,
JUDGING DATES
Please make a note in your diary, as we now know BOTH judging dates for the town.
We will be judged for the regional competition South West In Bloom [which we won last year] on Tuesday July 21st in the morning.
And THE BIG ONE the judging for the National Competition is Monday 3rd August
This means that just before those two dates the town has to be “spick and span” free from weeds, litter and graffiti. We will be arranging working parties just before those days so if you are able to help it will be much appreciated. If you can’t help in a big way please just ensure you keep the front of your own house or business premises clean and tidy.
Also if you have been involved in a project, such as at a school, the allotments etc etc-we would like representatives of all ages to meet the judges. I will be contacting individuals but if you are free and would like to join in please let me know.
If you belong to any organisation in the town please ensure you take a copy of this letter to your next meeting! Britain in Bloom is run for all the people in the town by as many people in the town who would like to help!
WATCH THIS SPACE FOR MORE INFORMATION.
REMEMBER: WE HAVE A FANTASTIC TOWN WITH FANTASTIC PROJECTS BUT IT WILL BE ATTENTION TO FINE DETAIL FOR THE JUDGING THAT WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!
Also please remember we have a small stall at Thornbury Carnival. We would welcome plants or any other related items to sell to raise funds. We would also appreciate offers of help to man the stall for an hour or so. We are teaming up with The Horticultural Society, The Small Holders Association and Alveston Gardening Club and it will be very much a stall to promote awareness of our causes but if we can raise some funds to help with our impending large bills for floral displays it will help.
Please don’t forget if you are a business and would like to be associated with our cause there is still time and with the town starting to look so good – what better project to support to promote you name locally!
Thanks to everyone that has supported us both financially and practically in many ways so far- we have now about 6 weeks of really hard work to make all our efforts come to fruition!
