Thornbury Residents Against Poorly Planned Development
Armstrong Hall, Thornbury
The TRAPP'D Action Group (Thornbury Residents Against Poorly Planned Development) has recently reached its 1st Birthday and we feel that it is the right time to hold a Public Meeting. We want to bring local residents up-to-date with our continuing fight for better planning in Thornbury and the surrounding area.
The meeting is timed to coincide with the final phase of the Joint Spatial Plan (JSP) consultation, from which responses will now go directly to the Secretary of State. Once adopted the JSP will become a statutory Development Plan Document and will guide the four Councils (South Gloucestershire, Bristol City, Bath & NE Somerset and North Somerset) in the development of their own Local Plans.
We now know that the Joint Spatial Plan will still include Buckover Garden Village and significant new developments in Thornbury (including Cleve Park which has gone to Appeal), despite local residents making their opposition clearly heard through and since the initial consultation.
We have invited a number of key political leaders to this meeting along with members of Thornbury Town Council and other local Action Groups, so we are hoping to hear answers to your questions on the future development of South Gloucestershire and, in particular, Thornbury.
This will be your last chance to influence the South Gloucestershire Local Plan for 2018-2036, so please come and make your voice heard. If you want to know more about TRAPP'D's activities or would like to be more involved, please email below.
