Thornbury renews Fair Trade
Thornbury has just had its Fair Trade Town Status renewed by the Fair Trade Foundation.
Thornbury was one of the first towns in the South West to become a fair Trade Town, and has to demonstrate its continued commitment to Fair Trade in order to continue as a Fair Trade Town.
The Fair Trade label is not a trade mark as such, but a marketing model where the producer gets a fair price for the product, especially in the developing countries. The range and quality of these products have steadily increased over the years, and have become popular through out the U.K.
The continuing support in Thornbury is due to a number of factors including support from traders, organisations and customers in the town. Thornbury is also fortunate in having the Town Council and Chamber of commerce as supporters.
