This year, to celebrate National Volunteers' Week Thornbury Volunteer Centre in conjunction with, and sponsored by, St. Mary Centre, is holding a photographic competition for both adults and children.
Split into three age groups of 6-11 years, 12-18 years and adults, the competition is open to any one living or attending school in the Thornbury area. We would like you to submit a photograph which captures the spirit of volunteering featuring either individuals or groups of people, the local community or the environment.
Cash prizes of £40, £25 and £15 will be awarded to the top three entries in both children’s categories and adults will be presented with certificates.
Colour or black and white unmounted, 6x4 or 7x5 photographs must be submitted together with names, addresses, contact telephone numbers and age of the child if applicable and either posted to Thornbury Volunteer Centre or handed into the office. Entries will not be returned to the competitor but will be kept for publicity purposes only by the Volunteer Centre. Closing date for entries will be Friday 6th June. Entries will be judged by members of Thornbury Camera Club.
