£523 raised for Cancer Research
The Celebration Concert held on 26th November at St Helen's Church Alveston was a great success, attracting a full church of supporters.
The evening was enjoyed by all and included excellent performances by The Castle School Jazz Band, Hand bell ringers from St Mary's Church Olveston, a Recorder group from U3A, the Oliver Chorus from Marlwood School, some wonderful readings from John Lloyd and the St Helen`s Church music group. The audience enjoyed singing a number of traditional Christmas carols and the evening ended well with mince pies and coffee. A retiring collection in aid of Cancer Research UK raised £523. The Thornbury and District Branch of Cancer Research UK wishes to express grateful thanks to all who attended, the various performers and to the Rev Dave Pole and members of St Helen's Church for their support and participation.
