After 12 years of delicate negotiations, the Purton Hulks have been formally adopted by British Waterways, who have registered ownership of the land encompassing the hulks.
The Friends of Purton are overjoyed and welcome the chance to strengthen existing ties with BW for the benefit of the region's heritage and tourism.
