Under the supervision of Prof Mark Horton, from BBC TV’s Coast and Dr Stuart Prior from Channel 4’s Time Team, students from the University of Bristol will return to Berkeley Castle to excavate archaeological remains from the grounds.
Professor Horton says: “It has so exciting to be doing such a major project at Berkeley - each day of the dig reveals something completely new and unexpected, and we have been able to rewrite the history of the castle, the town and its anglo-saxon antecedants.”
