Easter Cross at Oldbury
A large wooden cross has been erected in the higher churchyard of St Arilda's Church at Oldbury-on-Severn, which overlooks the village, school and River Severn. This is a local response to the initiative of Bishop Michael - Experience Easter. The church hopes to bring the joy of the Easter story to more people in our communities. The cross was made and erected by Andrew Gazard and helpers using a tractor and trailer for transportation! A concrete base has been made so the cross can be put in place each Easter and not just in 2007. The churchyard - a Conservation Area - is covered in Spring wild flowers and is well worth a visit.
