Split into two age groups of 7-11 years and 12-16 years, the competition is open to any child living in the Thornbury area. We would like a drawing, picture, painting, collage, computer-generated poster or similar which highlights what volunteering means to either individuals or groups of people, the local community or the environment. It could be a drawing of someone walking a dog, a collage of someone gardening, a poster asking for volunteers or anything which you feel shows the work of volunteers and the spirit of volunteering – it’s up to you!
Entries must be submitted on A4 paper with names, addresses, contact telephone numbers and age of the child on the back and either posted to Thornbury Volunteer Centre, The Town Hall, 35 High Street, Thornbury, Bristol BS35 2AR or handed into the office. Closing date is Friday 25th May.
The entries will be on display at the Volunteer Fair which is being held in St. Mary Shopping Centre, Thornbury on Thursday 7 June, 9am-1pm. After the Fair they will again be on display in the St. Mary Centre and the winning entries will be published in the Gazette newspaper. The judge's decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
