Berkeley Dig uncovers history
The archaeological dig in Berkeley in search of Saxon Berkeley and a Saxon Mynster, has uncovered fascinating artefacts including a Norman horse decoration and an Edward II coin.
The dig which centres on the Edward Jenner Museum’s garden and a paddock owned by the Berkeley Estate has yielded several interesting finds including a silver Edward II coin showing the King’s face, and a Norman decoration for a horse’s bridle. Click below to find out more...
