Berkeley Castle reduced season

Berkeley Castle 2008 Season

Over the last few years, in common with many stately homes, visitor numbers have been dropping at Berkeley Castle. As a result, opening to visitors has been making a loss of about £100,000 a year. Berkeley Castle Charitable Trust has regretfully decided to reduce the number of days on which the castle will be fully open to the public in 2008, to about 100. It is however anticipated that this change will not reduce the number of people who visit the castle, as more functions and events will be held, offering more varied opportunities to do so.
