Thornbury Musical Theatre Group presents "Olde Tyme Music Hall"
Thursday 5th to Saturday 7th June, Armstrong Hall, Thornbury

Olde Tyme Music Hall

Sounds of yesteryear and laughter will emanate from the Armstrong Hall when the Thornbury Musical Theatre Group perform an ‘OLDE TYME MUSIC HALL’, its second production in this, the group’s 40th anniversary year.

Not having done a Music Hall for many years, this will surely be popular, appealing to mixed age groups, whether it be a trip down memory lane for the older generation, or an insight into times gone by for the younger generation. Apart from songs and dances, there will be specialist acts including a magician, human ventriloquism, monologues and a melodrama, all providing great entertainment throughout the energetic and enjoyable evening. So brace yourself for a myriad of magical, marvellous, melodious moments at this evening of merriment which will have your feet tapping and your shoulders swaying, whilst tittering to the tremendous tomfoolery and terrific theatrical performances which we have in store for your delight. Sing along to the sounds of “On Mother Kelly’s Doorstep”, “Down at the Old Bull and Bush”, “You made me love you” and much, much more.

As a special addition, on opening night only, our patron, Chris Harris, the downright delightful, dynamic and legendary pantomime Dame at Bath Theatre Royal, will be performing alongside us - not to be missed!

Those wishing to dress in a style of that era will be welcomed, although this is not necessary.

Performances start at 7.30 pm and tickets, which are £7.50 on raised seating and £7 on level seating, will be on sale at Thornbury Town Hall from 12th May, or by calling 01454 853947. Alternatively, e-mail us using the link below. There will be a reduction of 50p per ticket for children under 16 and OAPs. It is advisable to book tickets in advance to ensure you are not disappointed; tickets will be on sale at the door on the night also.

So come one, come all to the Olde Tyme Music Hall and help join in the celebrations of this, our 40th anniversary year.

Music in the Church at Aust: Dominic Allan & Woody Woodward
8pm, Aust Church

Jon Swayne and Becky Price have been playing together for a few years, having discovered a natural rapport in their approach to music. On the one hand they are exploring English music, especially from 17th and 18th century sources, and this forms the core of their concert repertoire and of their recently released CD, Love and a Bottle. On the other they have built up an enthusiastic following in European dance circles, where a large part of their repertoire is made up of their own rich and beguiling compositions. They plan a recording of Waltzes and Mazurkas.
