Theatre Royal, Bath, leaving from outside Gillingstool School, Thornbury
Carrie’s War is the unforgettable story of one ordinary girl and her brother, packed off to the Welsh mining valleys at the start of the war and living through extraordinary events. Nina Bawden’s award-winning book has been consistently voted one of the nation’s best-loved novels. Direct from the West End, this hugely successful stage adaptation brings to life Bawden’s heart-warming, funny and evocative tale in a beautifully staged production. The play features a 13 strong cast and stars Brigit Forsyth who is well-known as the long-suffering Thelma in The Likely Lads and who recently starred in the stage production of Calendar Girls and Hannah Waterman who was in East Enders and also starred the Calendar Girls.
