We returned from the summer break to have the top duo SPUR, who finally returned to our club after a two year absence. They had been previously booked twice before, but had to cancel due to bad weather and travelling to Nashville.
But what a change in these two lads, who showed they owned the stage, moving about in unison with steps and guitars too. Both sang with strong clear voices, a pleasure to listen or dance to, covering all types of music suitable for dancers/listeners alike ranging from traditional to modern and self penned songs written by Mark and James themselves.

It is no wonder they have been nominated again for the top duo in 2011. A good crowd showed up to prove their popularity. During the second set Mark from Spur received a surprise phone call from Mickey Page. He had called to get his own back to Mark, who had done the same to him at the Trade Fair in Keynsham/Bristol. The evening ended all too soon, hopefully won’t be long before they return again.

At our October meeting, we welcome a young man called Hayden.

Cost is £5.50 each. Licensed bar available. We have a large dance floor, with plenty of room for dancers (Couples/Lines or Freestyles). Westerners and Listeners there is room for you all. Free Car Parks also nearby. A warm welcome greets you on every visit.
