7.30pm in The Stuart Room at The Chantry
You are cordially invited to the Thornbury Christmas Lights Association AGM. A review of the previous year will be made and some light refreshments will be available.
When the TCLA was set up, many moons and light displays ago, there were Annual and Life membership categories. The primary purpose of creating a Membership, was to establish a body of supporters who
a)wished to see the lights display continue and would publicise the voluntary nature (both in terms of man-power and funding) of the scheme.
b)would support social/fundraising events
c)would perhaps get involved in the management of or the actual erection of the lights
d)would be willing to contribute either an annual or life membership fee, set at a minimum level, to essentially cover administrative costs.
In recent years this ‘membership’ element of the Association has remained dormant. It is now our intent for it to be re-activated. All known members should have received a letter to this effect, however, inevitably there will be some instances where, for various reasons, it will not have reached them.
Everyone is welcome to join us at the AGM. However, should you be unable to do so, but wish to join the Association as outlined above, please send your name address and phone no. to TCLA Membership Secretary, Hollybush Cottage, Clay Lane, Thornbury BS35 3UA or drop your details into Thornbury Town Council offices, addressed to the TCLA Membership Secretary, or email your contact details using the link below, we will ensure that we contact you with membership details after the AGM.
We trust that you enjoyed this season’s display and thank you all for your support in whatever capacity... all those odd coppers in the collecting boxes around town do make a difference! Here’s to Christmas 2008!
