Local Indian chef Romy Gill is hosting an authentic Indian curry banquet with a range of mouth watering meals. There are vegetarian meals too, as well as side dishes and chapatis.

Guests can enjoy a two course dinner including a Kingfisher beer or glass of wine for just £16.95pp.

Romy was born in Burnpur, West Bengal and has a passion for cooking great authentic Indian cuisine. Well-known around the Thornbury area, Romy offers cookery courses and has even launched her own range of Indian sauces available to buy in the Old Down Farm Shop. Romy tells us: "When I moved to the UK, my love of Indian cookery increased dramatically because I pined for proper home cooking. I started giving dinner parties and providing cooked dishes to my friends and neighbours and before very long I was also giving cookery lessons too!"

The ‘Indian Summer’ event at Old Down is a chance for local people to really enjoy the true taste of India.

Starter - An assortment of pakoras and samosas served with a selection of dips
Main - A choice of 2 of the following dishes served with rice, chapattis and a selections of dips:

• Spicy Chicken Piaza - chicken pieces in a spicy spinach and onion sauce
• Butter chicken - chicken pieces in a creamy tomato sauce
• Saag aloo - spinach and potato dish (v)
• Handi paneer - a full flavoured dish of onions, tomatoes and spices (v)
