Old Down Country Park, Foxholes Lane, Tockington BS32 4PG
Old Down Manor has undergone a total refurbishment and will be available for private hire for weddings, parties and business functions.
The opening is marked by a Wedding Fayre on 16th October with free admission to all from 11am to 4pm, followed just a week later by the Manor’s first wedding.
The Manor is a private country house previously occupied by musician Mike Oldfield and now owned by local Businessman Arron Banks and his wife Katya. The redesign and refurbishment have been very tastefully handled by architects Lewis Foster Lewis of Thornbury, their brief being to retain many of the original features of the mid-Victorian building while introducing contemporary elements into the design.
The contractors, Biggs, have skillfully employed many specialists such as stone masons and joiners to bring the Manor House back to its former glory with interior designers, Design Direction, adding the beautiful finishing touches.
There will be a comprehensive programme of exciting events at the Manor throughout the year including Flower Arranging Workshops, Fitness Boot Camps, an Annual Wedding Fayre and special events for Valentine’s Day, Mothers’ Day and Easter. Christmas parties have already been organised with the first of the Old Down Manor ‘Snow Balls’ taking place on 3rd December at £40.00 per person.
Manor House General Manger, Olivia Mills says: "The venue is sure to be very welcomed within the community as the venue has been lovingly restored back to its original glory with the addition of a glorious Orangery which has been sympathetically designed to mirror what would have been there back in the 19th century. The grounds have been completely landscaped and we now boast a spectacular Victorian rose garden and rockery."
On behalf of the team at Old Down Manor," Olivia continued, "we would like to thank all who have been involved in the project and to all our friends and visitors who have supported the development of the Old Down Estate."
